The urgency for one of these is abating, but I was wondering - is there much competition for this little box in terms of a multi-input option at sub £200?

In terms of quality, is it about the same as a dragonfly?

Also, isn't it about time they rolled out a new improved version?

The competition tends to come from budget and mid-priced integrated amps with decent built-in DACs and 'all-in-ones' like those from Marantz, Denon etc. (And budget - mid-priced CD players with DAC connectivity.)

Anyway, you (or someone else) went around that circuit with a thread about separate DAC vs integrated DACs recently so I don't want to duplicate that.

As for the CA DacMagic 100, see if you can get Richer Sounds to loan you one for home demo.

In terms of who and why - Cambridge Audio, and to get a bit of marketing buzz. Dragonfly keep offering new options, but I guess CA have that bit of the market to themselves. Still, at 4 years old, isn't it about time for a refresh?

When my Raumfeld arrives, I would love to see "what a difference a DAC makes" - 24 little bits ;-)

Modi uber 2 dac is comparable to dac magic 100 price, how does it sound compared to daacmagic 100 ?Can it compete with dac magic ? It can be a good alternative.

I've just seen that Abrahamsen do a DAC (or maybe 2) although finding a price on their website is beyond me!

Does anyone here have one?
