I posted the other day about getting a Sony SACD player to use with my AV setup to improve CD playback. My system is fairly entry level (Sony STR-DH800, Kef Floorstanders, Mission c77 and Monitor Audio bookshelves with Sony BDP S360) but got no reply as I assume it's not a very common CD player. I'm not really bothered about SACD either. (And I know I need to look at a Kef centre to match the fronts...!)
Would adding a DAC (Musical Fidelity V-DAC?) to the optical out of the Blu-Ray player make a significant improvement to my system's CD playback performance or would it not be money well spent? Would buying a CD deck be a better option?
