I need a DA for my analog reciever, I use an old highend reciever coupled with a a pair of Dynaudio 160 speakers.
What i can't get my head around is what device is need to connect to stream music via Network, preferably. I want to be able to use android devices, stream from PC and maintain quality output. USB connection would also be nice I guess.

Should I be looking in to a DAC? or a network streamer?

I've been looking at arcam airDAC for this purpose. But I need a few more alternatives to be able to evaulate. Can you please provide some advice here?

Depends where you're playing files from and the leval of convenience you require. I tried an irdac made no difference to my Sonos. The CA Stream Magic streamer made a massive difference to Spotify has a useable DAC and preamp.

Convenience dosnt matter really, at least in installation phase :) If it take a while to install and configure thats fine doesnt matter how complex it gets really thats the fun part. However, when using it in everyday life it should be quick, easy and straight forward.

I use spotify, soundcloud, mixcloud, high quality mp3 from PC, I also have a Android Minix device.

Have you ever consider buying a £40 Raspberry Pi set up, instead for a streamer. It is better spending your money on the best dac possible.

I believe it does nearly everthing that Sonos can, plus you can stream 24/192 data.
