I just got a good deal on some danish hifi, the classic Bang & Olufsen Beomaster (reciver) 4500 (almost vintage) http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=351

What i am thinking about is, if it would be an advantage when i only use it with my pc (asus vii ranger z97 motherboard) to use it with the Audioquest dragonfly 1.2 or the Cambridge Dacmagic xs both costs excatly the same here in denmark

Why does the cambridge get 4 stars when the dragon fly get 5 stars although it's more expensive and have to downsample 24/192khz music?

You have to remember that products are given stars compared to other products in the same price range. So a 4 star more expensive product could well sound better than a cheaper 5 star product. You might also need to look at how long ago the review was done as products sometime lose a star as different competitors enter the market (I may be mistaken, but maybe they can gain a star because of a drop in price changing the bang for your buck equation).

Can't remember in which publication I read the review, the little Cambridge didn't measure neutral with flat FR, it had some issues.

Any thoughts about the audioquest not being able to handle 24bit and 192000hz files?

I did how ever notice that the whathifi review say the audioquest has just a bit better sound but it's more expensive and not for ultra high end audiofiles since it's limited to 24bit and 96000hz

You can't be an ULTRA HIGH END AUDIOPHILE with a USB stick and only 24/96! *biggrin*

Stretch that wallet wide open to join the club.

Why not a proper sized DAC for the same money? Although it is only 4 stars on WHF. Cambridge Dac Magic 100

Dave seems to like the Audioengine D1, also in your price range and has volume control and usable headamp.

Lacks dynamic reach and scale http://www.whathifi.com/cambridge-audio/dacmagic-100/review

Here in denmark it's more expensive the the audioquest dragon fly 1.2 and the cambridge dacmagic xs

Audioengine D1 costs atleast 60% more then the audioquest and cambride dacmagic xs

Have a usb dac available via Electromod in the uk for just £90. No distribution in Denmark so he can ship straight to you.

You can probably ship from the US too, cheaper but more trouble.
