Cyrus 3 Amp with Monitor BX2s

Hi,

I’m looking to upgrade my old budget amp to match a pair of Monitor BX2s – budget extends to about £300 (not much I know).

I’ve seen a second hand Cyrus 3 on ebay, but wondered whether this would be overkill for the speakers and i’d be better of spending the money on a new Marantz PM6003 or something around that range?

Any thoughts on whether the Cyrus would be a good match for the speakers would be greatly received.

Cyrus 3 is quite old but has a good reputation. For 300 quid you should be able to find a 8vs which will be a lot newer.

Problem with Cyrus is that there is an almost limitless possibility to upgrade so in the long term it could get quite expensive!
