I've been looking for an isolation block for my components - ones that won't break the bank. My audio rack shelves can accommodate something in the range of 250cm x 350cm (if 1 block per component x 2 blocks/components per shelf) or 500cm x 700cm (if 1 larger block with 2 components on it per shelf).
I was looking at wood composite blocks from Kripton, but was having trouble finding the right size match. Then I came across these CD iRAP units, and they seem rather interesting.
I'm curious to hear from anyone who has used them or still does what your impressions, mini review and recommendations are for them. Also curious if it's a 'bad idea' to situate 2 components per iRAP. For their sizes, it would be a requirement.
2 monoblocks on one
Preamp and DAC on one
Mac Mini and power supply on one
One last thing. I don't want to go crazy with spikes and shoes for the spikes and shoes. Just some clarification on where to use. My audio rack has spikes and shoes at the bottom. The shelves would have the iRAPs which come with shoes. However, all of my audio gear has spikes built in. So would it be ridiculous to have to add more shoes on top of the iRAP? Or perhaps ridiculous but necessary because pointed spikes sitting on a metal iRAP base - I would imagine not the best idea.
