Dear Clare,

I recently purchased PDP508XDT for a package price of 1499 pounds, when i received the TV i found it was PDP5080XDT & not PDP508XDT ,which was advertised on the website &still is. After many phone calls &e-mails i finally got an answer ,only to find that they were trying to convince me that both the models are the same. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar experience? Also wanted to ask you &your team if you could please advice me on what my legal stands on this issue would be?

Regards,

RD.

Did you also post something about this in the other forums? If you didn't then someone also had the same problem as you. When they questioned Currys about this they stated that they have never sold the 508XD(T). Even though its on their website you can't order it and they tell you to check store's stock level (I've tried!).

If all your documentation states "508XD", then that is the contract and that is what you are entitled to receive. Trading Standards will confirm this. You are legally entitled to "Loss of Bargain" which is the difference between what you have paid Currys and what it will cost to get the same deal elsewhere.
