curious for chromecast...

Hi, I have a Panasonic 46 pz80b and i'd like to know if Google chromecast would be a reasonably easy set up i've heard it can be tricky on some sets but not heard anything for my set, any help would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks. This is a 4 year old tv as well, thanks.

The main thing is that you can get power to it, it takes micro USB the same as any android phone. Ideally your tv will have a USB port on the back to power the CC. If not that you'll have to run one to it which may be difficult depending on where your TV is.

my blu ray has got a USB port, I thought cc worked with hdmi too?

It connects to the TV be HDMI, but its USB powered (it comes with a 'wall wart' too if your TV doesn't have USB)

It does. The CC plugs into a spare HDMI port on your TV but HDMI doesn't supply power hence you need to plug it in. If your DVD/BR player has a USB port then you should be golden.

Simple to use but I found mine misbehaving with my previous (utterly useless) broadband provider - BT. All my devices couldn't differentiate which was the wifi and would select Chromecast or BT as the wifi service. Not had any issue since switching to Plusnet fibre
