Creek Evolution 1

I read a lot of this forum about the Creek Evo 2 but what about the Creek Evolution 1 compare to say the Marantz pm6003 or the Brio 3

Don't really know TBH. However, my experience of MKIIs, SEs or any souped up or new models are generally subtle differences in SQ from the original.

Based on my experience of the Evo2 it is one of the best sub-£1,000 integrated amps around. The Evos don't have crunching bass, more punchy and detailed. How do they stack up against the aforementioned Marantz and Rega? no idea, to be fair. I would guess the Evo 1 would be about the same, albeit very different tonal qualities.

The best advice is to source a retailer that sells Creek and Rega (these would be the better match) and listen to them first hand.

There can't be many, if any, dealers who still have a creek EVO 1 in stock to test.

This is the problem any discontinued model: If you can source a dealer that sells the Evo2, that'll give you a good idea on the presentation.
