Consumers are flocking faster to 4K than they did HD!

It has nothing to do with the cost of 4K/UHD Blu-Ray players.

They were too late to the party at a time no one cares about physical media anymore (enthusiasts excepted) and modern TVs come with apps like Netflix, Amazon and YouTube all offering 4K/UHD...

As BB says it'll be because it's all you can buy at certain sizes

My dad bought a, gulp, 26 inch Saba colour TV with eight channel "touch" buttons and a snazzy white (melamine) case in the early 70s from Beales in Bournemouth that probably cost him more than a decent second hand car.

And I can remember paying 250 quid for a 22 inch Comet special in 1990. When beer was still about one pound fifty a pint.

For what you get for the price of 200 pints of bitter these days, a thousand quid or so, modern TVs and electronics generally are darned exceptional value for money.
