hi all, im looking to get new interconnects. choices are the atlas equator mk2 (£44 delivered)or chord crimson (£32 delivered). is the atlas that much better, and worth the extra, looking for nuances and separation. also looking at a Tarantula Classic Mains Distribution Block @£75 but not sure if it actually conditons aswell (if not i might just plump for a tacima and get a mains cable with the change).

please no cable wars though!

I would seriously consider the Gotham interconnects on ebay. Every bit as good as my best other cable at 6 times the cost.

And whatever your take on mains cables, or conditioning... I wonder why the makers of my £1300 amplifier were not clever enough to include a block that can improve its sound measurably, and retails at £25 (cost price maybe half that at most, and probably no more than £5 bulk)...Strange one that.

i want to get some a shielded mains cable, as all my cables run through a little hole in the back of my rack. so more to do with keeping interference away from my interconnects and speaker cable

I won't get into the cable issue but I'd recommend the Tacima CS929 without any reservations. I use two of these, one for my hi-fi and the other for my home cinema, and they perform splendidly on both counts. You can get this from E-Bay for about £25.00 each.

or £20 now on Amazon, and what a brilliant bit of kit it is too at an unbelievable price.......has made a difference to the sound and vision from my system, better skin tone, deeper reds and blacks, less background haze, sound more refined............can't rate this product highly enuff.......
