Hey guys,

If i were to have a really standard set up :

32 inch LCD

'blu ray home cinema in a box'

I'd obviously use the player for blu ray, but if i were to use the built in freeview on the TV would the sound play through the system?

if so, how would this be connected. thanks in advance!

What's the make and model of the TV and HCIAB, so as to establish what connections the TV and HCIAB may or may not have!

But probably either Stereo RCA or optical from TV to HCIAB.

I'm unsure yet,

most likely a sony W series lcd and a decent 2.1 blu ray 'in a box' ... waiting for the next issue to see 😉

just after a generalized question at this stage..

Hi,

Dave has already answered your question to the best of anyone's knowledge - given we don't yet know which connections would be available...

Cheers.

Depends on the connections available. It is likely to be either a Digital Optical or Analogue RCA output on the TV into a compatible input on the System.

Again, it depends which options are available - but it is more than likely that those two will be.

thank you for your answers,

say the LCD was a Sony kdl32w5500u

and the system a LG hb354bs

thank you very much,

if i decide to go for different products i'll look out for the optical connection.

James

As mentioned, failing optical output / input on one or other of the components, look for RCA phono inputs / outputs on both - these will also allow you to get Freeview sound through the sound system.
