Hello

after reading these forums daily, i have now got to the point where i have realised i dont have a clue!

7.1 suround, blu ray players/ amps not able to decode certain things, honestly im getting bogged down by all the facts so here is my question, bear in mind half this equipment is pending price, reviews and testing but would this system work and is it 'futureproof' is thats relevant.

TV- sony kdl40w4500

surround sound - sony ht is100

blu ray player - sony bdp 350/550

sky HD and an xbox elite

this will be sitting on a 2 shelf atacama equinox rack

so will this system be good enough to let me experience blu ray to its full potential?

and with 4 pieces of equipment on a 2 shelve rack where would i put the front speakers on my surround sound???

and with all the clutter would i suffer from interference of sorts from all the equipment?

any help/hints is much appreciated

thank you

In my opinion, no. The Sony surround sound system will not deliver you HD audio which Bluray discs offer. The sound will not be near the sound of an AV receiver and separate speaker package. Will it be a good system? Yes, unless you have a large room. In my opinion, you would be better of getting the Sony KDL40W4000 which I've seen for £799, the Sony 350 BDP and with the money saved, add a receiver like the new Sony STR-DA2400es (once the Sky compatibility is sorted) and a decent surround package with the remaining money.
