Complete newbie at home networking. First home network to share music using airport express?

Hi everyone

Im new to home networking and would like to start.

Currently I have an orange wifi Internet router, home plugs and an airport express. I use the airport express to stream music from my iPhone or mac then have a digital toslink into a Rega DAC then into my amplifier and speakers.

What I would like is to be able to rip CD's or downloads to a network drive then call upon them when I want to listen to them through my Hifi. Also I would like to do the same for videos- I also have a Ps3 if that helps with streaming video?

Finally, I woul like to use the network storage to share files between laptops.

Please can you help me with regards to what I need to stream and store my files.

thanks for the reply. Not realy thought about a budget but I would like to get something within £200. i have a £100 play.com voucher so forking out £100 on top is okay i guess.

its also about what nas drive would like me stream to my airport express. i can imiagine not everything can stream to the AE so i dont want to get something i cant use. ive heard Synology can stream to AE? not sure if thats true though.

finally, ive got an AV amp with airplay built in so streaming music or video to that would also be ace! can i stream videos on the HDD to my PS3?
