I intend to buy a 3D TV and blu-ray player. At the moment, my preference is the Samsung UE46C8000 TV and I like the Sony BDP-S770 blu-ray player. However, I wonder if is a good idea to combine 2 different branches (Sony and Samsung). Wouldn't it lead to overall quality loss or compatibility issues and is it better to buy both from the same branch ? Or doesn't this matter at all (in a way that it's no problem to connect a Sony to a Samsung) ? thanks in advance, Dirk

Dirk,

The Samsung and the Sony will work fine together. HDMI is a cross platform standard which all the manufacturers have signed up to, so there'll be no quality loss or compatability problems in connecting them (as you're interested in 3D make sure you get an HDMI 1.4 compliant cable). They are also both DLNA compliant, so they can communicate wirelessly (or wired) across your network. The only drawback i can see is that you'll have two remote controls sitting on the coffee table (or floor, if like me you've got 3 kids who seem to regard the floor as a large self clearing storage shelf!)
