Bought two coax cables from John Lewis in October to connect a DVD player and a HDD/DVD recorder to a DACMagic. They were in the sale at GBP 0.99 each. No complaints from me and the sound pretty good to my ears.

I've used the John Lewis digital co-ax cables as well (I got mine for 50p in a sale!). They are stunningly good for the money. I can tell you that they bare direct comparison with digital cables costing up to about £30 or so. I once did a comparison of all the digital cables I owned just to see if the luddites were correct in saying that all digital cables all sound the same. There where to my ears at least, differences between all of the cables I used. I broadly prefered the cables in the order of ascending cost, however it was only when you got over the £300 mark that clear blue water began exist between the cheaper and more expensive cables I had available. I think the overall best value for money was a Van den Hul video-link cable I bought off of eBay for £10 so if you can get hold of one for a similar price you'd be on to a winner - just get a John Lewis cable to tide you over until one's available for the right price.
