Hi guys,

I'm looking for a miniture USB DAC to connect my iMac to my amp. I would like to be able to control the volume via the iMac system volume as the amp isn't within reach.

Which you recommend out of the Dragonfly V1.2, Meridian Explorer or something else perhaps? I don't want it to take up any desk space so a USB stick or mini device is the best option for me.

Thanks in advance.

Depending on whether you need 24/96 (Dragonfly) or 24/192 (Explorer), a 16/48 Behringer UCA202 or UCA222 (basically the same thing except for case colour) will do the job quite well at a much lower cost.

Hi Audiokid,I'm using the Cambridge Audio Dacmagic xs from my i-mac through to my trusty Cambridge amp and into Q Acoustics 2050i speakers and it sounds terrific...The Dacmagic xs is simple to set up and use and though I haven't heard other dacs I reckon this tiny device must be a bargain....

Thanks guys, will check them out! Any more recommendations much appreciated, will probably grab one or two of the top picks this weekend to try.
