Cpt.Issues said:Perhaps you have missed the point good companies need British Engineers and QA staff on site to strictly govern over each and every aspect in order to assure product quality?
And clearly you've missed the point that having those British staff onsite ensures that the quality is there, which is exactly the question the OP was asking about!
Though thats not much different to over here where you also need QA and QC staff. Seems my "vague allusions about issues but not anything related to hi-fi" are infact very relevant. Perhaps its even necessary to learn from these examples to prevent reoccurance of similar issues elsewhere?
No, I don't care about any other arena because this is a hi-fi forum and the question was asked strictly with reference to hi-fi! Therefore that's what I'm referring to in my answers.
There has been issues with Chinese product quality in the past. And many of these issues have widely been acknowledged as stemming from cultural issues. What makes you think HiFi is somehow immune?
Because this is the HI-FI forum of the HI-FI website of the leading HI-FI magazine. If there were quality issues with chinese made HI-FI we'd know about it pretty damn quickly! And I have to say, I can't recall one person complaining about the build quality of their chinese made Hi-fi products, which would seem to suggest (to me at any rate, maybe I'm the idiot here) that there aren't many issues.
If the Chinese firms were simply producing product conforming to specification without issues then why is there a need for British Engineers to go over there an oversee manufacturing?
Because that's what ensures the quality is kept!
I haven't come across any bad press recently to suggest the speakers from China should be any worse than than if made in the UK.
So after all that you're agreeing with the first thing I said? Troll...
