At present l, mainly, listen to Spotify (Premium) through a PC, fitted with an M- Audio 2496 soundcard, Denon amp & a pair of Tannoy F1 Custom 'speakers.
l had intended, in the new year, to go down the active speaker route & was seriously contemplating the KRK RP5's; no need for separate amp & replace the Tannoys.
However, though the room is approx' 4 x 4 metres, we have an old unusual house with walls that have weird angles; hence the measurements are not square.
Long story short, it looks increasingly likely that the corner/alcove where the right speaker is will be taken up with a large flat screen telly. All usable options for placement of speakers the size of the Tannoys/KRK's will be gone, due to sightings of items of furniture, radiators etc
So, though l may come back to the option of KRK's in the future, l need to consider some active computer speakers, with or without a sub.
l have heard that the Harman/Kardon Soundsticks are good, though l don't particularly like the clear presentation.
Budget is in the region of £150 ish as, l say, l want to retain the option of larger active speakers for the future.
Advice more than welcome.
