Centre Speaker

Hi,

I have a Sony 32W4000 TV and would like to know whether I can use the TV speakers as the centre speaker on a 5.1 setup so I can remove the one sitting on the TV at the moment ?

No, this won't work as the 'centre' speaker is responsible for speech in a 5.1 set up. Your TV speakers will output stereo and cover the full spectrum of sound. You'll probably find that there may be a very slight delay in the sound between the other speakers and your TV speakers resulting in an echoey sound.

So the answer is actually 'yes' - but with the caveat that it will probably sound pretty dire...

I can only think it's the Mrs wanting you to get rid of a speaker ??!! (a constant battle in my house...)
