CD upgrade advise

Hi all, looking to upgrade or do away with my CD player.

The system currently is a Krell KAV300 CD, Leema Tucana amp, Wilson Benesch Orator speakers, Nordost SPM speaker cable and Heimdall interconnect. My budget would be £1500 plus what ever I get for the Krell and I have no problem buying used.

Not sure what to do, do I ditch the CD player and go computer based or upgrade and stick with cd?

We have ripped our whole CD collection to Apple Lossless files. We stream them through an Airport Express to our DAC. If necessary, we can play a CD through our Bluray player connected to the DAC.

The Apple Lossless rips sound fine and it's very convenient to be able to control the iTunes library on an iPad while the computer with all the music files is in another room. As long as you rip your CDs with error correction you get extremely good quality rips.

If you don't want to go the computer route, you could consider buying a Bluray player as a transport and a separate DAC.
