trying to decide, should I upgrade my cd player or get a DSLR camera.
The Pioneer I've had from new, 1994 and the Rotel is a recent addition from freecycle and is about the same age.
I'm streaming music from a pc more and only buy about one cd a year.
What cd player would be a good upgrade?
How does the Brennan unit compare with sub £500.00 players?
budget maybe £500.00 STW

As a classical collector and listener, CD and Vinyl punctuated with Mike Oldfield I bought the very best, but then I have to match that with a good amp and speakers. If I am listening to heavy metal and rock all the time then I would have bought a budget model. Buy the best you can afford but match this with good speakers and amp as well.

I'd be looking at investing in a good DAC which will benefit your CD player (if it has a digital output?) AND your computer based music.

Personally I'm a huge fan of the Musical Fidelity V-DAC, but the Beresford and Cambridge DACs also have many avid fans.

If you are thinking of buying a DSLR you may want to think ahead; one of the great things about digital photography is being able to work on the pictures using photo processing software, RAW processing etc. In the long term a good laptop wiht external hard drive may serve both interests. A DAC may be th ebest way of keeping your options open
