cd player

i have cambridge audio 640 v2 cd player.would i notice any improvements if i bought the marantz 6003 cd player.any body got any advice.

IMO no... More of a sideways move really.

It'd be handy to know what music you generally listen to and what the resy of your system is?

I think the next move up in CDP would be the Rega Apollo or possibly the NAD C545BEE. The NAD is at a similar price to the Marantz but IMO offer a more fuller and detailed soundstage.

my system is yamaha 1065 reciever acoustic energy neo 3 speakers and i listen to heavy rock.

Haver you thought about changing the AV receiver to a dedicated stereo amp or do you have a surround sound system as well?

The AE Neo 3 speakers are bloody brilliant for their price and will gel well with a lot of amps and CDP's. I think if you do just have the AV amp for hifi then I'd look to change that as well; maybe for the matching Cambridge Audio amp or possibly rhe NAD C326BEE integrated amp.

i have just bought the yamaha so would not consider adding another amp.just thinking about upgrading the cd player.
