I recently upgraded to the Pioneer SC-LX83 AV Amp and have found that i'm listening to more CD's using my Pioneer LX52 Blu-Ray Player. I have now decided that i will add a dedicated CD player as i find the blu-ray player a little on the bright side for music. The ones that i have looked at are;

Marantz CD6003

Audiolab 8200CD

Cyrus CD6 SE

are there any other recommendations to suit the pioneer amp?

Thanks

Yep how about the Pioneer PDD9MK2 CD/SACD player @ approx £750 ish.

I've got it and the SC-LX83. Good sound quality and has direct audio and something called Ligato link pro to extract extra detail from the music. Works with the receiver remote. Matches the cool blue Pioneer lighting and is the same colour black as the receiver. Has had very good reviews on the quality front and has Wolfson dacs. Excellent chassis and built to last.

It should be noted that the sacd is only 2 channel, which suits me as I'm not into 5.1 music. Front styling is a little different as it has a distinct curve on the front, but I like it in a rack as I'm not into stacking kit on top of other kit.

Thanks Marnie,

I've arranged to have a listen to the Arcam CD17 and Audiolab 8200 this weekend. Will give the pioneer a go too.

Do you find the Pioneer CD a little bright or would you say it's warmer?
