CD Player through AV amp

First off I'm still quite a n00b with all this hi-fi malarkey.....But, recently upgraded my home cinema system with an Onkyo 605 and Monitor Audio BR2 av pack. I've been totally blown away by the improvement the BR2's have brought to my music listening which I'm still doing via my dvd player....so question is if I get a new CD player is it also going to be worth getting a dedicated amp? I dont want to spend much money eg. Marantz CD5001 and Marantz PM4001 amp. So basically is the sound improvement going to be worth the extra cash....?

It's just the DVD player from the Pioneer DCS 360 all in one home cinema system that I bought a couple of years ago. Was planning on upgrading to an HD player...(but that's another story!)
