I noticed last night that at low volumes I can hear my CD spinning, or that is what it sounded like. Obviously when the volume is up this is not a problem, but quieter listening and it becomes annoying, once I have noticed it it is all i can hear. Any thoughts? Would a lense cleaner help, or one of the Densen DeMagic CDs?

Thanks

Its just one of the things you have to live with with most CD players. Some make a quiet ticking sound, with others its more of a hiss. It IS annoying, particularly if you are listening at low volumes or to quieter piano or chamber music, and the only CD players I've come across that are relatively silent are the Technics ones. Now I've got an MF V-DAC doing all the processing work, I'm actually quite tempted to pick a 2nd hand Technics up as a transport to resolve this very problem.

Cleaning discs etc. won't help.
