Capt Phillips at the cinema

Watched at cinema yesterday. Excellent film. Tom Hanks.was great & the non pro Somalian's very believable. Spoilt only by the fact that we knew the ending but the best film this year for me.

Reinforced my belief that home cinema is always limited by room acoustics more than equipment. The positioning of sound effects and the scale of the soundfield is.huge.in a cinema. The claustraphobic atmosphere inside.the lifeboat is caught brilliantly in the cinema.

I enjoyed the film as well. Brilliantly made, and the actors were amazing - entirely believable!

Agree, quality film. Even better when the wife goes in sceptical of a film that I want to see and then declares that she really enjoyed it too :cheers:

I enjoyed it, especially the scene with the Doctor. However, much was made - in various quarters - of the "third act", which I didn't find especially noteworthy except for the aforementioned. That is, I didn't think it merited being singled out compared to the rest of the film.
