Cant get sound from DVD player to Unitiqute2

Had my Naim Untiqute 2 running for a few weeks now and all is good apart from when i watch DVDs i cant get sound. I have a Panasonic Blueray player hooked up to the digital input via an Optical cable. When i play CDs its fine, when i play DVDs i get a high frequency high speed clicking noise through the speakers! Any ideas?

For what its worth i have my Tivo hooked up to the other digital input and that is fine (using Optical cable).

Set the output on your DVD to 'PCM' in the sound settings.

Better still (to avoid lip syncing issues) take your optical audio output from your telly. (Assuming the DVD player is connected to the TV with an HDMI cable and that your TV has an optical output.)
