cancelling sky ?

This maybe a really stupid question but if you cancel sky do you still get to view basic channels through the sky box? many thanks.

yes, you get the free to air channels, such as bbc's,itvs,4's.5's etc

err...almost but no you dont. You need a special card in your skybox to pick up those channels. I believe they are quite cheap and only a one off payment. Sky used to sell them ..perhaps still do

err.. actually you do. just leave your old card in the box after its cancelled, this is what i do and works, oh and you can get fta channels without a card whatsoever like the bbc's and itv's and channel 4's but likes of channel 5 require a card, but as i said just leave your old card in the box

I have recently cancelled SKY and still get the free channels including BBCHD and Channel 4HD but they stop the recording facility within the box from working, I would let them make you an offer of a price reduction of some type so that you can keep the recording function as I do miss its convenience. I declined the offer that they made me and it was a mistake
