the + is brighter than the sun. well, maybe not, but the + is brighter than the i.

Bright? never heard them described as as that before. Do you mean the treble is more prominent or finger nails down a blackboard?

more prominent. i heard them on a friends m.f. a5 and tbh thought them a bit clinical. i've heard the db1i sounding very nice with, from memory, sweeter treble that isn't so prominent. it's dificult for me to say more as i heard them some time apart, but my abiding memory is i liked the i and didn't like the+, i remember the i as musical and the + as clinical and bright.

A brighter DB1i sounds interesting, having heard the non + version I found it so dark and bassy as to be offensive.
