Can music from your itunes be ripping on to a cd?

Yes and it is fairly simple.

Create a new playlist and add the files you want on the CD you are about to burn.

Put a blank CD into your CD burner.

Click on the playlist you have created and click on the "Burn Disc" button in the bottom right corner.

Follow the instructions.

Job done!

One point though - off the top of my head by default that button burns a data disc rather than audio on Windows, and you have to change that in Edit/Preferences/Burning. That may have changed in the latest version, dunno.

Currently sitting at a Mac though so can't confirm immediately (that gives you the choice after you click 'Burn Disc')

Looks like the Windows software is the same as the Mac version. A box pops up that asks you whether you want Audio CD, MP3 CD or Data CD.

As you say, John, it is worth just making sure you have chosen the right format.

I thought music you bought was protected, its never allowed me to burn a disc....they keep crashing or just wont play??
