Pioneer PDP-LX508D, DVR-LX60D HDD/DVD Recorder. I cannot seem to remove the top and bottom black bars when viewing movies with aspect ratios of 16:9/Anamorphic Widescreen. (Had a go with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the first Lord of the Rings movies last night - standard DVD's). The only way to get rid of them is to view in ZOOM mode, setting it manually, but the picture looks stretched and not to my liking. I have the Auto-Size option set to "Wide-Zoom" on the plasma. On the Pioneer DVR, screen resolution is set to 1920 x 1080P, TV Screen Size set to 16:9. Is it possible remove these or am I worrying too much about possible screen burn? Any assistance/information gratefully received.

Yes, you can remove them using the zoom, as you have discovered. But there is zero chance of screen burn with black bars on movies - if they were white bars it'd be a different matter.
