Hello,
I'm french so i apologize for the gramatical mistakes i'm probably going to write 🙂
I've owned JMLab Chorus 705S for 4 years now, and i need a new hifi system (amp + cd) because my father wants his own back now...
I'm hesitating between the Marantz PM6002 & CD6002 and Cambridge Azur 540A and 540C (i want to spend about 800 euros ; for example, the cost of CA540A is 380 euros)...
But the point is I will probably change my speakers in 2 or 3 years, but not now, as i can't afford buying speakers & amp/cd.

Moreover, i don't many hifi shops where i live, and i was just able to listen one week ago a cambridge 640 system with large speakers (i don't know the word, in french we use "column speakers").. I'll try Marantz 6002 in a few days.
I admit i'm a bit confused, i don't know how to choose, as first i can't listen both of them in the same time to compare, and second, i will change my speakers soon.
A piece of advice would be welcomed 🙂

Thanks,
Thomas.

Hello Thomas,

Firstly, your english is excellent, so don't worry about that!

We know the column speakers as "floorstanders" here on the forum...

If I were to choose one of the above systems, I would go for the Marantz - I believe it is a far superior system to the Cambridge.

The Marantz is also more capable with a wider range of speakers - the cambridge amps can need careful matching.

Hope this helps!
