Cambridge Audio DacMagic + iMac

I am the owner of a DacMagic (not the plus model). If I am right, the USB input is limited to 44.1Khz. My question is; is it possible to improve the quality using a miniToslink-Toslink through the optical headphones output of my IMac? (96Khz)

I have owned both the original dacmagic and the Plus. In both cases, the sound quality via USB, providing you use the cambridge ASIO drivers was superior to the optical connection. However, there is a lot of mains hum using USB, which wasn't altogether eradicted using the ground lift switched in. There is no interference using optical.

You can pick up a cheap optical cable for around a fiver or less, so it's worth trying out.
