Dear All

I am ready to purchase my new CA Dac Magic.  This is for my home cinema system to connect my DVD player up with my Denon 2309 which will then be played through my MT-30 System.

The question I have is what is the best way to set it up.  I was going to keep my coaxial connection purely for DVD playback by -passing the DAC.   What I use for CD playback will be the Optical out of my dvd player and connect that to the dac. Now, I am a bit stuck as to what to do next.  Do I then connect the DAC to my amp with another coaxial or use the RCA connection and use analogue cables. With this connection to I connect to the Phono inputs or the red and white input for CD playback.

I really hope this makes a difference.   My DVD player only outputs 92khz via linear and really hope my CD playback improves via the DAC

GerardasNails - I know you pretty good with your knowledge on the DAC what do you think?

 Best Regards

You will need RCA cables to connect the DM to your Denon. This will send a digital feed from your dvd player to the DM and then the DM turns this into analogue so you need analogue cables (RCA) to send to your speakers.

Sorry to throw this at you but the DM is a brilliant little box but I do think that you might not be that impressed by using your Denon receiver as the amp. A stereo amp would make a much bigger difference. Another point worth raising is your excellent surround speakers are not the same as proper stereo speakers. I would say that the DM might be wasted on your system - I may of course be wrong. The plus side is that if you ever decide to get stereo speakers for your system (maybe just the front two and keep the other M1s) and/or a stereo amp (your Denon has pre outs), or bring in a computer to the equation, the DM would benefit you greatly.
