Only way to know is to dem them at home. Even reading a review tells you little about how it will sound to you :)

Marantz seems to going for £249 and Cambridge for £449 so hardly similar on price point.

I have the CA and think it's a fantastically detailed player and is excellently made. But in all honesty, for the money the CD6004 is an absolute bargain. It's a fantastic bit of kit!

I'm familiar with the predecessors of both - the 650C and the CD6003 and I'd say there will be nothing between them. I personally think some of the prices on CA kit are getting a bit expensive in comparison to equipment of similar quality and capability from Marantz. The 600 series CA stuff is still excellent though.

Just read the review of the 651C player.

I think I'm going to pick up the Marantz CD6004 ;)

So your'e going to buy the CD6004 based purely on the review you read of the 651? I don't understand the logic here. I'm assuming that you chose the CD6004 also based on a review. Have you actually listened to either of these CDP's yourself? Do not buy equipment based on reviews alone. You need to listen for yourself and then make up your own mind. You might surprise yourself.

I have experience with Marantz cd players. I had the CD5001, SA7001 and the CD6002. All of ém great players. So I think the CD6004 will not dissapoint me.

The fact that the 651C costs 700 euros in Holland and the CD6004 costs 450 euros also helps :)

That's 250 euros I can spend on new CD's.

I fully understand the award that the CD6004 got. I've been listening to it for a week now and it sounds marvellous.

Buildguality is great too.

Marantz has done it again ;)
