Recently discovered that Logitech have released a smart phone controller application.

http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/wireless-music-systems/devices/squeezebox-controller-app

As a squeezebox classic owner (with it's simple 'low res' text display), the addition of a nice high resolution touch screen controller option where I can easily browse through my stored music (with associated album art) and access internet radio stations has definitely given the device a new lease of life.

Best of all - It's free.

Interestingly it's only available for android phones

Cheers for the tip! Just downloading it now - hopefully will work better than the other free squeezebox android apps out there.

Works well - much faster than the others I have tried. I did have to ****** around a little - had to reboot router, and login to mysqueezebox.com on each of my SB Classics.

In addition, you can get Squeezebox and Sonos apps for Android tablets. 7" tablets can be had for around £120, which makes for the cheapest full function remote for these systems IMO and effectively renders the standard remotes as rather expensive paperweights.

I tried the official app but found it too slow but my phone isn't exactly a powerful one. I much prefer Squeezecommander for Android and iPeng for the ipod Touch. Both absolutely blow the official app out of the water. I don't know why Logitech bothered, after all, they're rather late to the party.
