I have finally bit the bullet and bought today an Onkyo TX875 and B&W MT30. I was about to order some QED Silver Anniversary XT cables (£6ish p/m) for the speakers but the B&W dealer said they were horrible to work with and a Chord Leyline 2 cable for £2.50 (p/m) would be the better bet for the system. I need 32m of cable for my system and also the subwoofer/amplifier lead to buy. I understand connecting to this type of B&W speakers is a little fiddly. Any suggestions on which speaker and sub cables to go for?? Thanks Paul

[/quote]mmmm strange why the dealer would say its difficult to work with? im using QED PROFILE 12 BI WIRE CABLE & its the bees knees, mind you it oughta be at £15 a metre!! & i use silver anniversary for the surrounds, i cant really recommend anything other than QED as i personally think its the best as i have used numerous cables over the years & QED always comes out on top for me.

I think it's the connections into the little M1 speakers - getting the Silver Anniversary wire into the hole is fiddly at best! I got the same advice, hence why I went for the QED Silver Micro for the M1 rears.

Thanks all for your responses. Professorhat - you mention what you used for the rears but what do you use for you front/centre speakers?

Same as everybody else it seems - Silver Anniversary XT! I have the 685s and HTM62 front and centre speakers though, hence the upgrade in cable.

Thanks Professorhat. At the risk of abusing your goodwill here, taking everything into account would you recommend going for the Silver anniversay or the Silver Micro for all the M1s?

No probs, goodwill safely non-abused!

Crikey, I can't really say from experience as I've not switched the cable around to listen to the differences (and I'm not likely to either as that would require me taking my M1 stands apart!). From other people's point of views I've read on the forums though, I reckon the Silver Micro would be fine for the M1s (anyone else, feel free to correct me if you feel different).

I use QED S.A.XT on my M1s. Yeah it's a bit of a pain, but nothing more than that. You've only gotta do it the once aswell. IMO it's not too much of a hardship.
