It's the sort of thing where instead of spending time debating it on an online forum, you might as well go ahead and do your own test to see what happens when you try it in your system, with your ears, with your test tracks.

Except that your ears / brain will be lying to you, doncha know?

Here's the conundrum:

Sighted tests can be flawed because of expectation bias, where people might think they hear differences when none actually exist.

Blind tests can be flawed because of stress, where people might not detect differences that are actually there.

I don't have the solution to this, apart from suggesting that each person uses the testing methodolgy that they are happiest with.

To be fair to Drummerman, I think he made his point very well in the first post of this thread and therefore has no need to elaborate if he doesn't want to.

To be fair to everyone. The first post was little more than an opinion and comment on an earlker post and everyone could see where it would lead. I regret the urge to critise others but I would hate to see reputations spoiled.

To be fair to Drummerman, I think he made his point very well in the first post of this thread and therefore has no need to elaborate if he doesn't want to.
