Hi everyone,

Following some advice on this forum, i've purchased an Onkyo digital transport, Cambridge Audio DAC Magic and a Little Dot III amp, i'm using AKG701 headphones, i've also just got some Senn HD650's which i'm waiting to be delivered.

Has anyone got any advice on what coaxial and analogue cables to use?

I've currently got a QED performance digital coax, and a pair of Van Den Hul cables (the bay, i which i think may be an old set)

Are what i've got any good for this system, or do i need to be spending more? i'm pretty clueless with this subject, but i just want to get the best out of my system, i know there are a lot of arguments on cables, and i'd be pretty disappointed if i spent a few quid for them not to make a difference, so advice would really help.

Thanks,

Mike

The cables you have are fine and fit for purpose. I would leave well alone, though when you say you got VDH cables off ebay and they appear old, are they fakes? The phono connector should be marked Van Den Hul as well as the cable. The Van Den Hul markings on the cable should not rub off with your finger. Compare your cable with one off their website and if it looks the same and nothing rubs off with your finger, keep them. Otherewise I would recommend replacing fakes.
