Buzz/hum from turntable.

I have an AT LP 60 turntable. I plugged it into my amps phono socket & it works very well with no hum or buzz. However, the lead is very short. I wanted to extend it so I bought longer phono leads. With the extended leads I now have a loud buzz & hum. I bought a ground loop isolator but it made no difference. Any ideas or help very much appreciated. Thanks.

If everything else is the same it can only be a problem with the new interconnects, perhaps you could borrow some different ones from something else. Is there a separate earth wire on your turntable? If there is, make sure it's connected properly to the amp.

Hi Trev

I'm pretty sure the leads from the turntable have an earth wire in them.

I'll try to source some other leads.

Thanks
