I've been looking for a Pioneer 4280XD Plasma and found it in Currys. They had it displayed at £1199 but said they had an Ex-Display for £1000, because it had a tiny scratch. When I went to see it, it turns out they are both Ex-Display. I wondered how risky it is buying a plasma like this and if it's worth it? I can't really afford the top end prices I've seen for this set, it seems to go up each time I check.

My alternative choice is the Panasonic 42PZ81B or the 42PZ85B I know I wont use the Freesat, but I'm not sure if the speaker on the 85 would annoy me or not?

Would really appreciate any advice, because I really want to buy a new TV! Thanks.

The sound on the Z85 is supposed be better than the Z81. The sound on the Z81 is the same as the Z80(which is cheaper and doesnt have freesat)

I have the 42PZ85B and it sounds pretty good to me, your best bet is to go into a shop with your favourite film and crank up the volume thats what i did !
