Hello, I am a student and am looking for a very cheap sound system (£200-£250) for my Apple MacBook Pro and would like some help as I am new to this.

I was thinking of getting a cambridge audio amp (a1/a5/ azur 540a v2) with some budget speakers (tannoy f1s or wharfedale diamonds 9.1)

Alternatively i could get an active system and was thinking of the audioengine a5's

Space is not that much of an issue but was wondering which system would sound better and if there are better options within mu budget

My music tases lie mainly in Rock, Indie and Electro. Some decent bass would be very nice. Thank you for your help.

Well a separates system will let you upgrade as and when you get new installments of your student loan

And the Cambridge Audio 640 is available at a bargain price now that the 650 has come out - add some Tanny F1s and you;re away.

NAD C320BEE integrated amp via eBay as well as some Tannoy F1 speakers and some Atacama Nexus 5/6 stands (or Soundstyle Z2's if you can find them) and youre laughing IMO
