Hello,

i am looking to buy a new Amp to compliment my Rega Plana 2 and Mordaunt Short speakers.. i am thinking about the NAD C325BEE / Rotel RA 971 or if anyone has any suggestions i would love to hear.

I like a clear, natural sound, with clear precise bass.

any suggestions would be greatly recieved.

What sensitivity are your speakers? If reasonable consider something like a Mini-T, can be a little harsh and struggle with hard loads but given the right speakers if you like the precise sound can be untreatable value. Smart little package too.

Thanks. The speakers are Mordaunt shorts MS10's... 8 ohm impedence, 88db sensitivity... just took a look at the Mini T, i would like to add more inputs to the amp - ie, tuner / cd player, so the Mini T might not be suitable?

Lovely speakers, soooo many happy hours.

I found they ran well from a few amps but for your assumed budget I would try a large Yamaha, be it an av receiver or "hifi" amp.

Try a Denon PMA-520AE. Don't be fooled by the low price...........it sounds really, really good IMO.

For clear, precise sound go for budget Rotel and Marantz amps.

Nad 325 BEE is good with strong bass, but a touch less clear and precise than Marantz 600x series amps and budget Rotel amps.

Nad 320, 325, 326 BEE amps have a musical, dinamic sound with rounded of treble.

I would go for NAD 325 because of musicality

I used to have the C325BEE. It is an engaging amp and should gel quite well with the MS10s. Be aware it doesn't have a phono stage so you would need to use an external one for your Rega.

do you know what the difference is between the Rotel RA971 and the RA971 MK2? that might be a silly question, but...
