Has anyone had trouble connecting their PS3 to the new HomeHub2 wirelessly?

I rcently swapped my old bt hub for one of the newer ones. To begin with i couldn't even get it to work wirelessly with my laptop, now i've fixed that problem it will not connect with my PS3!

I have tried to set it up manually (limited knowledge here) and still no joy. My PS3 connected first time with the old hub, so what am i doing wrong.

Regards

Graham

Thanks Richard, makes for interesting reading.

What bugs me is that its BRITISH TELECOM but tech support is in India!!!!!! drives me crazy!! it takes about 5 mins for them to take your name!

i.e. if you they had a UK call centre you wouldn't have to spell out your name JOHN.

I think it's shocking and very sad that we have to put up with this!

I dont have one so Im kinda guessing here. But going into the PS3 settings you need to have a NAT 1 or 2. if it says 3 then the protection built into the router is blocking the signal

You need to log into the router using your PC and either put the PS3 outside of the NAT, or allow all the necessary ports for the PS3 to work

I have a Home Hub 2, which I thought would be swapped out rapidly, but I really like it. I've had no problems at all with it.

That said, I tend to connect stuff up with ethernet cables if at all possible, and I think my PS3 might be hooked up that way. I've got various other stuff hooked up wirelessly though, haven't had any issues.

The NAT problem that alienrik mentions may well be the issue, I had that problem with a Zyxel router I got from a different ISP. The Homehub menu http://bthomehub.home is fairly straightfoward though. Have you tried adjusting the appropriate settings from there?

Good luck!

Sorry, but i don't understand what 'nat 1 etc' is. However i have managed to sort it. As i mentioned i only have limited knowledge of these hubs, but i managed to fix the problem by opening up the hub manager, going into the settings, and changing the channel from 'automatic' to a specificly numbered channel.

I don't know if it will cure anyone else's problem connecting to the ps3, but it worked this time.

thanks for all the help though guys.
