British hifi brands and Roon

Hi,

Anyone an idea why British brands are slow (well, basically standing still) in adopting Roon? Roon is really sooooo much ahead of anything out there that is DLNA based that it's just not funny anymore.

Being Roon user for half a year I would not ever have dreamed that a software solution is priority 1 when looking for a replacement of my streamer (Squeezebox), but it is.

Would be interested in your opinion on this.

Just had a look at Roon.

There's absolutely nothing about it I would be willing to pay $199 a year/$499 lifetime for.

Does it still use your squeezbox, as listed? I have one but it get less use now I use Quobuz via a chromecast for simplicity, and don't have many downloaded files.

Because of the price. Dnla is free, chromecasts are cheap and many music players can "look" nice for next to free

Brilliant gui, integrated library management, wonderful sound - I'm happy to pay for it.
