Breaking in new speakers...

As I recently posted, I bougjt a pair of the award winning Wharfdale 220's two months ago and unfortunately ealier this week the bass unit on the right chanel failed in an obviouse and dramatic fashion, and sounded awful with no real reason to do so.

Fortuntely the fine people at HiFi Hut in Dublin have been great; a courier collected them the next day (yesterday) and contacted me today to confirm that a new pair would be couriered to me overnight to get here tomorro. Very impressive customer service I thought.

Anyway, now I'm being very cautious and would like to ask those in the know what's the best and most practical way to break-in or run-in a new set of speakers...?

Also wondered obviously if anyone else has had any problems with this model of speakers? They were sounding fabulous up til Monday and I'm at a loss to explain what could have happened?

Just use them as normal, nothing else required. Sounds like yours had a defective driver.

Yep, sounds like poor quality control. Just play away as you would normally as there is no real way, or necessity when it comes to that, of running them in.
