Bluetooth -v- Airplay

How do they compare in terms of the file sizes and quality of file they can effectiveley stream?

I know WHF doesn't seem to like wireless streaming, they always suggest it doesn't sound as a good as wired. Quite why that is I don't know. Perhaps something is lost in transition.

1) AirPlay is prone to wifi interference whereas Bluetooth isn't.

2) Bluetooth operating range is much narrower than AirPlay.

3) Bluetooth with aptx is supposed to offer superior sound than Bluetooth only.

4) Bluetooth is compatible with almost all phones & many music sources, whereas with AirPlay, you're stuck with an iDevice.
