I have the Pioneer SC-LX81 I was looking for a Blueray player that is also good for CD playback and DVD playback. ( Better than the PS3 that I use now.)

Is their any recomendations? I was looking at the Pioneer 51FD or the LX71 but is the differance that significant or do I have to spend more to get better. What would be considered a significant upgrade.

Thanks

they way people seem to say is that the 71 is better but not the amount of the price difference so i think the verdict is the 51 is thebetter buy, i have heard that the denon transports are good as cd players but depends on what amp you have. Plus if this is going into a av amp and its £500 or more id take take a optical out and let the amp do the dac which is moren likely to be better. imo this is not facts

Yes thanks for the reply,

I was thinking the same thing but it seemed that Whathifi was leaning towards the 71 over the 51 in the recent tests, that they are doing. I was also thinking of the Denon transport but I wasn't sure.

Also it seems the new Pioneer bluerays are coming out from Pioneer. Does anyone know how they compare? they look alot smaller.
