Blu-Ray confusion

What exactly is happening with Blu-ray? I am very confused and am led to believe that DVD will disappear soon.

Not a chance - far too many DVD players in use worldwide for that to happen. And until you can buy a Blu-ray player for £40 in the supermarkets, nothing much is likely to change

There is also the factor that a DVD costs about £10 where the BD version is normally over £20.

Are you thikning of HD DVD rather than DVD itself mate?
